My bf and I are almost always working, so rarely want to cook. We end up not eating too healthy because of that and I'm gaining pounds. So any good recipes out there? Also love baking! So any cookies or pastries also welcome!

meatballs:
MEAT:
-2 lb meat
-1 onion
-2 cloves garlic
-2 eggs
-1 cup breadcrumbs
SAUCE:
-10 oz grape jelly
-3 cups marinara sauce
-1/2 cup tomato juice
-4 tbsp lemon juice
-1/2 cup brown sugar
combine sauce ingredients & cook on low flame. combine meat ingredients & ball meat. cook for 45 min-1 hr
onion rice:
- 4 cups rice
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 5 tbsp onion soup mix
boil water. add onion soup mix & oil. add rice. cover & let cook. fluff with fork.
stringbeans & mushrooms:
- stringbeans
- mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
cook string beans. strain. sautee mushrooms & garlic. add oil, honey & soy sauce. let simmer. pour over string beans.
honey mustard chicken:
- 1 cup honey
- 2 tbsp mustard
mix & pour or spread on chicken. bake for 2 hrs
BBQ chicken:
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup oil
mix & pour or spread on chicken. bake for 2 hrs
apricot chicken:
- 1/2 cup apricot jam
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 cup honey
mix & pour or spread on chicken. bake for 2 hrs
lemon chicken:
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup honey
mix & pour or spread on chicken. bake for 2 hrs
breaded chicken:
- 1 egg

I just purchased a side of beef and am in need of some ground beef recipes?

I have more ground beef than I know what to do with. Other than burgers, meatloaf and chili what are some easy recipes that I you have to share to go through the beef? I have a family of 5 including 2 teenage boys so the beef was packaged in 2 lb increments.

We like tacos and burritoes in our family. I usually open a can of refried pinto beans to go with the dish. In your family, you would probably want at least two, and possibly three cans, because of your teenage boys. Or, of course, you could cook the beans from scratch, which would be far more economical, and probably healthier too. Charro beans are good with tacos or burritoes, too. We like Mexican/Spanish rice sometimes, and we always like a nice green salad with all the trimmings.
There's shepherd's or cottage pie, too. I like to make hamburger stroganoff, you can use your own mushrooms and onions and cream sauce and sour cream. My husband and his brothers (his was a blended family, and his mother had FIVE teenage boys at once!) loved spaghetti as boys, and still love it today. In fact, I'm making spaghetti Bolognese for dinner tonight. Salisbury steak is basically hamburger patties (with or without added breadcrumbs), shaped into ovals, and baked in the oven with a cream or mushroom sauce. Make plenty of baked potatoes. I suggest at least two potatoes for each boy, and possibly three, depending on how active they are.
On a side note, learn to make a cream sauce, rather than just opening a can of cream of mushroom soup. Don't get me wrong, I love cream of mushroom soup, and would eat it with a spoon, but it does have a lot of sodium in it, and it's better to make a cream sauce if you have enough time (and energy).
I suggest going to the supermarket and looking at the Hamburger Helper packages. Don't buy them, just look at them for recipe ideas. Just about all of them are some kind of starch and a sauce to go with the hamburger. Oh, and the difference in Stroganoff and Romanoff is that Stroganoff has sour cream in it.
Your boys are old enough to learn to cook, too. Set them to the task of coming up with a new recipe each week. They don't have to invent the recipe, they just have to find them on the internet or in the library or your own cookbooks. And then they have to cook those recipes. ;D Seriously, it's good for teens to learn to cook, and it's a valuable skill for the rest of their lives.
If you have a slow cooker or a big stock pot, now is the time to make stock. Throw the bones in there, with a quartered onion and maybe a stalk of celery and a carrot. Let it simmer for hours. Put some vinegar (white vinegar is fine) into the pot, just a couple of spoonfuls, in order to leach the calcium out of the bones and into the stock. The vinegar flavor won't last. It might smell disgusting (bones by themselves usually do) but it will be fine, once you strain all the solids out of it. Yes, throw away the veggies, because they will be completely flavorless.
Also, have cookouts. Hamburgers taste much better when the patties are cooked over an open flame.
